essential 5.
for me
I end my day by creating my “To-Do” list for the following day. I believe this focuses my energy and allows me to know what I need to do to make the most of my day.
Each day starts with my essential 5.
For me they are: “Me Time, Read, Nature, Move and Create”
This list of my five essentials is followed by dinner and then one house chore I want to complete the following day.
But notice what is first?
Meditation, Growth, Nature, Movement and Creativity
By focusing my attention on what I need to be the most vivacious version of me, I keep my self routed in my personal health.
I frequently hear from women,
“Someday I’ll have time for self-care”
You do. I promise.
But are you valuing and prioritizing self-care?

Through reflection, I have come to know my essential 5, I hope that during retreat you will spend time knowing what is yours. You will always be offered the opportunity for time to dive in and discover YOUR essential 5. What are the actions you need to make to find your 5?
During retreat it’s easy. We are on a self-care retreat! But what about when you go home? How are you going to be able to carry these practices into each and every day. We are not all perfect and some days we cannot get to 2 or 3. But if we intend to find at least time for ME, then we are on the path.

At various times throughout retreat I will hand out a sheet with guiding questions to aid in your personal reflection and growth. I invite you to sit with your journal and explore your inner thoughts.

How to practice automatic journaling:
Find a quiet space: Be comfortable and distraction-free.
Relax and focus: Take deep cleansing breaths
Write: Set a timer for 20 minutes and simply write whatever comes to mind, even if it seems random. Allow your writing to include the distractions, your emotions and fears.
Don't overthink: Just keep writing. There is no need to go back and edit or fix spelling.
Go Back: Re-read your thoughts, can you make sense of it?
