I hear from women all the time, “I make a million decisions every day.  I just want someone else to make a choice.” We choose which soap to put in the bathroom, produce to purchase, and sneakers for the first day of school without a second glance.  We order, purchase and complete tasks in a consistent fashion.

New shirt for $5.27 at Target, in the cart. Bottle of wine at the grocery store, in the cart. Latest romance novel, downloaded to the kindle. Again, no questions asked.  These quick fixes, these hits of contentment, they pacify us. Yet when it comes to taking care of our emotional needs, we question. When it comes to providing space and time to connect with ourselves and other women, we hesitate. When it comes to slowing down enough to make real change, we deny.

I have been hearing from women, “I need to give myself permission to go on retreat.  I know that is exactly what I need.” But they don’t do it.  Why do we care for everyone else's needs, except our own?  We make sure our children and partners live with vitality.  Why can’t we live with vitality too?

Sitting with our true self is scary. What if we honestly see ourselves and not like who is looking back? What if we slow down enough and realize we are not happy? What happens if those we spend all of our time doing for, don’t need us?

My wish for women is to know their worth.

You are worthy of slowing down.

You are worthy of space to do as you choose.

You are worthy of giving yourself time to do one task at a time.

You are worthy of a nap.

You are worthy of doing nothing.

You are worthy of connecting with people you love.

You are worthy of being bored.

You are worthy of being creative.

You are worthy of moving your body as you want, not what the latest trend tells you.

You are worthy of not being available 24/7.

You are worthy of not being polished.

You are worthy of showing up authentically.

You are worthy of laughing, crying, screaming and every other emotion!

You are worthy of making changes to live the life of your dreams.

I give you permission to show up in your fullest worth.

This Week’s A Door Within:

  • How am I worthy?

  • How do I give myself permission to live with vitality?

♥Ashley
