balance
The past month has been a blur. It got away from us- because we let life become too full. Between soccer practices, swimming lessons, getting in our garden, and end of the school fun- life was overwhelming.
Want to know what suffered most? Me.
Everyone else’s days were well nourished, and cared for. But as you fill these moments caring for everyone else, I stopped the important tasks that I need in MY day.
I have what I call my “Essential 5”. The five things I need in my day to find myself balanced and cared for. They are: Me Time (meditation), reading, being in nature, exercising and creativity. It has been a month since I have picked up my paint brush, I typically miss sitting in meditation one day a week- this month it’s been the opposite. Exercising is all but gone. My solace has been being in nature to re-calibrate by energy being. Thank goodness for yard work! It has truly saved me this last month.
At our New Moon Circle, I acknowledged how much walking the beach is one of my favorite things- and I’m not going. That changes this week! I am walking, breathing and connecting with nature and myself.
Today is the last day of school. And with this chapter closing, like a New Year’s resolution, I resolve to make the necessary changes to be fully present for me. I am ready to seek change and balance in our daily lives. I am ready for summer and finding the slow mornings with ease and breath.
I am privileged to be able to be present with my boys and myself. I am going to make the changes I need. I am going to learn from this last month, to be sure I do better next time.
If you are curious about my Essential 5 it’s linked on my website here. I invite you to create your own 5! I also have a downloadable file that is a workbook to create your E5. It will be a pay for file, but for my newsletter subscribers, please accept this gift. I so appreciate you being here with me as I learn and grow each and everyday. (use the code: essential5 )
This Week’s A Door Within:
Am I caring for me?
What nurtures my soul, so I feel balanced and cared for?
What can I do today to bring more peace into my present life?
By finding these action steps will I feel less overwhelmed?
In search of balance,
♥ Ashley
