How To: Alternate Nostril Breathing
Sit comfortably: in a chair or on the floor with a straight back.
Exhale completely: through both nostrils.
Close your right nostril: with your thumb.
Inhale through the left nostril: for a few counts.
Close the left nostril: with your ring finger, holding the breath briefly.
Open the right nostril: and exhale slowly.
Inhale through the right nostril .
Close the right nostril with your thumb.
Release the left nostril: and exhale through it.
This completes one cycle.
Repeat this process for 5 to 10 cycles, or up to 5 minutes, ending with an exhale through the left nostril.
