preparations

This week I have felt that life is full of preparations. Details of planning.

We have moved our house projects outside! We are prepping garden beds, raking the tired grass to make room for new growth, and planning our outdoor spaces. We are getting ready for summer!

I am preparing the next two weeks. I am wrapping up loose ends, and setting up all that I need to live my most balanced life for the next two months.

I am preparing for the next two months when I take a long-term substitute teaching position. This will be the first time I am working 40+ hours a week in over four years. This will be a BIG change for my family. I have been home/ working from home and a constant grounding force for home base. With me physically “at work” there will not be the normal chores that just MAGICALLY get done. For example as I write this the five loads of laundry, sorting and storing winter mittens or the dishes left in the sink from breakfast. We will have to have collaboration.

Now, I know it is only 6-7 weeks, but it is going to be a change.

Elements of reflection for me. I no longer want to take this position that I agreed to six months ago. Life was very different then. There has been SO much that has changed and I am ready to be focused on my new goals, paths and ambitions. I moved on, but six months ago, I was nervous and unsure- I slid back into what was comfortable and guaranteed.

I know better now. I needed that lesson.

This Week’s A Door Within:

  • What are you preparing?

  • What have you slid back into for security? Do you regret not moving forward?

  • How can you learn from your side steps?

Have a beautiful week,

♥ Ashley
