Swirls of Change

The cold temperatures bring the possibility of inner reflection.

These dark, snowy and bitterly cold days are an summons for us to turn within. We are able to create with introspection because life just slows down.

I welcome the cold.

I welcome the pause.

I welcome the request to stay home and snuggle in. “It’s not safe” they say. Thank you! I will follow your directions and look out at the swirls of frost, with my cup of coffee in hand.

Did I venture out into my backyard? Why, yes. The cool crisp air is an invitation to breathe a little deeper and move a little faster. I am fortunate. I have the layers, I have a warm home, I have the ability to venture out. After a walk around our property, I will head back inside and rejoice by the warmth of our hearth.

This time of year welcomes the slow and deliberate pause of life. I choose to not make huge changes at this time of year. Instead, I choose to plan. I think about what I want, where I want to go, and who I want to be.

So I invite you, snuggle up with your favorite warm beverage and plan. Plan for the best version of you to come in 2024.
