cold days
This week an arctic chill hit most of the country, forcing our schools to close. The result? A perfect day with my boys. We started our day with a few ground rules. No working, No projects- just FUN! Out came the list, and what a list we made! Only the most important tasks were included.
The results? We played games, read stories by the fire, baked cookies, ventured outside and most importantly had a day of connection. It has been a busy two months of ALL the fun. So much fun, we haven’t paused long enough to be present.
I am so grateful for nature’s intent. She forced us home, with no obligations. She forced us together, to lay only the best of plans.
These winter days are growing longer everyday as our celestial home inches closer to equilibrium. The addition of a few more minutes of sunlight equates to a different rhythm of life. In these winter days of rest, I invite you to find just that. Rest.
Make your own cold day “to-do” list. Fill it with all of your favorite things. I guarantee, you will be rested, connected and have a sense of joy!
This week’s A Door Within:
What is on my “To-Do” List?
If I take a Cold Day, how do I think my physical and emotional body will react?
Schedule.
With appreciation for the cold,
