nature’s bounty
Now is the time where we are closing up our gardens, and taking the last remaining harvest off their plants. We are hauling vines and withering greens into the compost pile, turning over garden beds, covering them with leaves, and preparing space for the best winter nights sleep.
Today also marks the Harvest Moon. A moon that signifies that beautiful relationship of the end of the harvest season. We have collected our first harvest and already are excited for the expansion of our future harvests, for the gardner never ceases to dream. As I turn over my garden beds, I am also planting and planning for next spring.
In go the daffodil bulbs. I have collected an abundance of delightful varieties: rich oranges, buttery yellows, deep golds and multi petal confections. These bright little sunshiny faces will warm my heart after the long dreary months of winter. I appreciate the time to allow the beds to sleep, for the return of spring is imminent.
The opportunity to place bulbs with love and care is the beauty and grace of nature's cycles. I will tenderly loosen the soil to place the bulb, with time I will see their happy dancing faces. By honoring the harvest, we honor the bounty of every season. The bounty of crops, the bounty of space, the bounty of life’s return, and the bounty of growth.
This Week’s A Door Within:
How was your harvest?
How do you plan to rest and restore for future growth?
Can you set a foundation for future growth?
How will you honor the cycles of nature?
With abundance,
♥ Ashley
