support
This week the weather has turned warmer and so has the snow. For weeks, my boys have wanted to build a snowman, but it hasn’t been “snowman snow”. With the warmer temperatures, the snow changed and out appeared our ball rolling (and lifting skills). We built two; one to see from our house, and one by the road for our neighbors.
The temperatures continued to rise and quickly, our gentle being close to the house tumbled.
It is now three days later and our road warrior still stands. It is not because the forces of gravity and weather are not trying. No. It is because of where he was built. He was placed below our arch, which welcomes visitors to our home. He was placed in a space in which he is able to lean.
He has support.
Oh, the power of support! So often, we forget that asking for help or creating support for ourselves is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength! Our skill set was the same, snow was of the same conditions, but the structures in place made all the difference. These structures may be physical or emotional. They may be a practice or a person. No matter the support- lean on it, it may be just what you need to make it through this season of change.
A Door Within:
What support do I need?
What structures can I create to support my growth and stability?
How can I create a community of support for myself and those I love?
How can I be a support?
