Pure Joy

In life, there are a few things that truly make me come alive. Two such activities I have a wooden board strapped to my foot. If I can be on skis, I am a happy girl.

This morning, I went out for a cross country ski run. (Insert true joy.)

What a perfect morning when you can be out and nothing more than a heavy sweater. As I was moving around the trails, the temperature started to climb. What that means for the trails, is the snow gets sticky. You begin to slow down, you move with a little less ease and work a whole lot harder.

Yes, exercise is a benefit, but at what point do I say “no, thank you.”

I came to a standstill and this sign gave me a great pause.

Choose Positivity

Just as my body was saying, this is getting really hard, someone with a great sense of humor and honoring perspective gave me just the sign I needed.

Do I want a little bit of climb then speed? Or do I want to acknowledge that the hill could be warm, slow and not really what I’m looking for, in other words, obnoxious.

I chose to skip the hill.

I also chose to meander into the woods, a little bit deeper and find the shaded cooler spots on the trail. I chose the graceful slide of my skis against the snow. I chose gentle movement in being able to look around and into the trees. I choose to observe the glistening snow and ice crystals.

I invite you to make choices with a little perspective of what truly serves you now.

This Week’s A Door WIthin:

  • Are you needing the climb?

  • Is a meandering path in the woods ideal?

  • When you come to a standpoint in life, no matter the situation, do you ever think about both options in a positive tone?  Why can’t you always win?
